Patapenka is a new disco-leaning alias from Minsk-based Uladzimir Patapenka, who has previously worked as LIPSKI. With 15 years music making experience under his belt including work as an Ableton Live instructor, he sure does know his way around a tune. He worked on these pieces over several months with vocalists, trumpeters and a cellist and as such they are layered tracks that work both in the club or at home.

‘Children’ is a warm and sunny one that transports you to a balmy Mediterranean coast line. ‘First Dance With You’ brings more jazzy vibes with Afro vocals and beautifully lush grooves while Latin feels dominate the slower sounds of ‘La Playa’. ‘What About This’ is a blissed out and stirring instrumental with swooning strings and ‘Canvas, Oil’ shuts down with Rhodes laced funk. A sublime EP.
